Last year’s photo competition proved to be such an outstanding success that we’re running it again for our 2026 Calendar. Our nominated judge will choose one winner who will appear on the cover plus an inside month and 11 runners-up who will represent each remaining month. Entries will open on Tuesday 5th August and close on Saturday 23rd August 2025.

The competition is open to Wire Fox Terrier owners worldwide, you don’t have to be a member of the Association to enter. The winner will receive a £25.00 (or currency equivalent) Amazon voucher, plus a copy of the calendar. Runners-up will receive a complimentary calendar.

Competition Rules

1. Entries

• Entries are open to all, you do not have to be a member of the Association.

• Entrants can submit up to 3 photographs but can win only once.

• Entries to be submitted via upload via the link below.

• Deadline to enter is 12:00 noon (GMT) on Saturday 23rd August 2025. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.

2. Judging

• Selected members of the WFTA committee will choose images based upon artistic merit, originality, creativity of composition and overall appeal. 

• Judging will be anonymous - judges will not know the name of the dog or name of owner entering.

• Judges will select a winner and 11 runners-up. 

• A list of all winners, runners-up and their winning images will be published on the WFTA website by the end of September 2025 and appear in the WFTA 2026 Calendar which will be published at that time.

• The judges’ decision is final and we will not enter into any correspondence concerning the final decision or the way the competition is organised.

3. Image Specifications

• All photographs must be submitted as HIGH RESOLUTION JPEG’s, suitable for printing in the calendar, with a minimum 300 dpi resolution and minimum of 3508 x 2480 pixels. Photographs which are not of an acceptable quality will be discounted from the competition.

• All images must be in a landscape proportion (not portrait), so that they fit within the template of the calendar. 

• No digital manipulation of any kind on the subject matter is permitted e.g. dogs. Entrants can make basic digital corrections such as tone, contrast, sharpening etc.

• Entrants may NOT change or alter the real or true nature of the background e.g. add borders, graphics, artificial sunlight etc. Anything which is not true to the original setting.

• Removal of dog leads in post-production editing is permissible.

We DO NOT accept these types of photographs:

• Photographs which include people (including children)

• Photographs with any type of watermarks including your name, initials, logo or other words or symbols embossed or imprinted anywhere on your entry

• Photographs with any 3rd party branding or promotion captured within your photograph including your own business name

• Photographs that are digitally framed or have any coloured borders

• Photographs that could be interpreted as cruel, harmful or non-respectful of the dog’s wellbeing

• Photographs of dogs with toys that are not suitable or healthy for a dog (e.g. children’s toys with small plastic parts)

• Photographs of dogs in human clothing or fancy dress or dog costumes

4. Copyright

• The competition is not open to anyone involved with the organisation or judging of this competition.

• Your entry to this competition constitutes your agreement to allow your photographs, your name and your dog’s name to be published as a selected winner or runner-up and to appear in the Wire Fox Terrier Association 2026 Calendar. Entrants retain ownership of their photographs.

5. Data Privacy

• Entrants’ privacy is very important to us. We will not share your details or use them for anything other than this competition. We will keep in touch with updates in order to keep you informed about your entry.

6. Prizes

• Winner of the Wire Fox Terrier Association 2026 Calendar Competition will receive a £25 (or local currency equivalent) Amazon Gift Card and their winning photograph will appear on the front cover of the 2026 Calendar as well as a month inside. They will also receive a complimentary copy.

• Runner’s-up will have their winning photos feature on a month within the calendar and also receive a complimentary copy.
